Google, Dell and Alienware Could Develop an Android Phone?
According to some rumors Dell and Google look
forward to create the world's worst android-based
phone. There were also certain assumptions that at the end of January 2008
the so-called Android-Dell mobile phone
had already been developed and soon is going to be presented to the public.
However, in the end Dell proved that it is not interested in the Android platform developed by Google, at least for now. Nevertheless this fact did not stop some people, who still believe that the two companies are going to develop a Dell-Google handset, and lately a new prototype mobile phone has appeared. This handset is going to be manufactured in a partnership with Alienware, one of Dell's subsidiaries, that develops special PCs aimed towards gaming and video/audio editing.
The Florida-based Alienware has built its popularity on futuristic designs, which earned the company many devoted fans. Certainly such android phone features a futuristic design, which the producers present as "eye-catching." However, due to the fact that not all people are passionate about the designs of Alienware, the term "eye-catching" might sound in a bad way.
In addition, if considering that everyone likes the way the company creates things, a design made for a desktop PC might not be popular if moved to a mobile phone. And because the imagined handset really looks like a PC case that was developed to suit a mobile phone people might not be impressed by it.
Besides a rather controversial design, the handset would also provide an Android platform from Google, as well as a high-resolution display and additional features characterized as: "fantastic audio capabilities" and "superb video gaming." Although such concept might be developed in the near future the image of the phone here will remains forever a concept, because it has nothing to do with the three companies working on an android handset.
