2008_nokia__handset_made_from_recycled_materialsWorld largest mobile phone manufacturer, Nokia, developed a new concept handset created entirely from recycled materials. The handset was presented at the Mobile World Congress, which was held in Barcelona, Spain.

It seems like the company pays more attention to the environmental issues than any other manufacturer of cell phones. Nokia is the first mobile phone producer to include alerts into its handsets in order to encourage the gadget's users to unplug their charges when these are no longer required. In such a way the Finnish company saves energy. In addition the mobile phone producer developed a new compact packaging that lowers the number of used materials by more than 50 percent. Thus the company reduces its distribution costs, fuel consumption as well as carbon emissions.

Besides, in 2007 Nokia presented its fully functional cell phone, called Nokia 3110 Evolve. The phone features bio-covers that are made from 50 percent renewable material, it also uses much less energy than a normal phone, and namely by 94 percent less. The package made for the phone is created from 60 percent recycled materials.

Today Nokia unveils a new handset, which is manufactured entirely from recycled materials. Such concept makes way for new technologies to be implemented in cell phones. The new handset from Nokia is entitled "Remade" and its makers looked forward to create a phone exclusively from used materials. In such a way the company managed to avoid the need for natural resources and a high level of energy consumption.

It is worth mentioning that the phone is created from recycled aluminum cans, plastic from drink bottles as well as from rubber taken from old car tires. The interior of "Remade" features environmentally safe technologies, including printed electronics. In addition its display saves energy. Despite the fact the mobile phone is currently not functional; the new concept still pushes towards new ideas that might lead to the development of a greener mobile future.
